    Go fishing, figure it out.
It’s definitely not automatic. It does help you learn fishing much faster. I think it’s pretty useless in salt.

Im getting a Gtown house this week. Selling the bakehouse on Eagle Point, Lake Marion.

I have done some inshore fishing in Gtown but not great at it. Want to be able to catch bait when they are down. Find shrimp. Locate the bull drum. Fish the jettys....

Putting an electric motor on a tritoon. Family fun, grand babies, fishing and tooling around on a booze cruise. Go offshore on another boat.
Either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.

You can find bait almost anywhere in Gtown when it’s in. Around points, Shell Banks, Lighthouse, Yawkey, etc. Go at low tide, mark the oysters, points etc and fish there.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

There’s really no where you are going to go in the area that the bait will be “deep”. It’s going to be in all the places Salty mentioned and will be very noticeable.

Didn’t say it was automatic but it removes a lot of the education from what I see/guess (never fished with one, don’t want to). I went fishing to not look at a screen…

Probably don’t need to go fishing with me then. I don’t want to fight fair, I want to catch fish. Park the boat over those ledges and load the box. Going to see about Golden Tiles this year hopefully.

Find the local guide of your choice, tell them exactly this. Your learning curve will be further ahead.

    Running North Inlet is tricky.

    Thanks for the help.

Is it cool to go back and fish where the guide took you?

In most situations no. You can extrapolate the general trend on locations and use it for your own benefit though.
The when is just as important as the where in inshore fishing. A good guide should walk you through all this using the current day as an example.

I've booked SouthernWake several times. He knows I used to fish a ton, and at one point I might get back into it. Even took my wife and wasnt sure if he'd let me come back since he thought she'd have me getting back into it sooner than later she had so much fun. I have also decided, since not I dont live on the coast, it is well worth the money to go with him and have fun catching fish, and let him do all the hard work. I dont think he has withheld any top secret spots knowing that I might get back into it, but I also think he knows I wouldn't fish where he has taken me.

Spending the hand-full of pesos, installing cleanly and with transducer(s) in the best position for running @ speed & trolling is easy.
Operating, dialing in settings & knowing what you are seeing takes time & better yet, outside help. Youtube will get ya just so far.
My upgrade will be out of date before I can figure it out! (don't like being told what to do)

Guess this means you will no longer be attempting to stump Lake Marion?

Hmm, guess those efforts will now be pushed towards dredging Winyah Bay.

I have a Ray Marine on my bay boat. It uses Lighthouse software but I replaced it with C-Map. It’s more of a sailing software but it’s preloaded with accurate depths and what not.
I was suggested this by a conch in the keys and haven’t looked back.
