    back story
My son was trout fishing today, in our "go to" spot
using our "go to" Mirrolure and took a friend with him.
Son (who is a dang good trout fisherman) caught two and his friend
caught 9 with this bait right off the bat while in the same boat. His friend had two of this lure and my son tied
the other one on and commenced to wearing them out for two hours.
The friend didn't know the name or where he bought them, they were loose in his tackle box and
were several years old. The fish definitely liked it today, on the bottom and fished slow with no jerk or twitch.
    Just a straight slow retrieve

Presentation, profile and maybe color. Don’t beat yourself up on matching it.

You ever fished a TRD in your trout spot?

No, but I am going to order a couple packs now.
The water is really dark where we fish and the darker baits seem to do best,
any particular colors you like with the TRD?

Green pumpkin or “coppertruse”. slow straight crank retrieval or slow bottom bounce. Painfully slow. Use the light wire hooks with a light drag.

The new gobyz are great in the Ned rig series too.

The Gambler Big EZ and EZ Swimmer have the best action of any paddle tail bait., especially reeling slow. They have a crease in the side which makes the bait wobble while the paddle tail does its thing. They have a big assortment of colors.

I don't know the name but that color in any paddle tail is fire on trout.

Rick, I got a good buddy that lives less than 5 miles from your spot that makes awesome hand made paddle tails in his barn.

Take a look at his instagram and let me know if you want me to drive you over to the barn to have him make exactly what you want. It’s an art to him.

I kept getting these pics, all morning
They caught between 20 and 30, all this size.
All fish released and swam away
I am about to head home any day

I'm planning to run home and fish within the next few days
If we catch any trout and if you want some fresh filets, I'd be happy to bring you some back
