Congratulations - I killed one in Moncks Corner back during the 1989 blizzard.

The best picture I have - I didn't have a camera so used my grandma's polaroid.

What Tater said. Good job, RK.

I just saw this….and am jealous!
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Aluetian. First for me. At least that I noticed anyway. Never really looked for one. These two sat on the bow for almost an hour before I noticed what I had.

Hold up you killed a Aleutian in Moncks corner
When in doubt, shoot him again!

Work like it's all up to me, but pray, like it's all up to him!

It was a Eurasian green-wing. Same coloring as an Aleutian but more the size of the American Green-wing.

I thought I knew just about all the duck species…nope still a dumb ass…its always intriguing to me how a couple species can be so similar…and be a different subspecies

Body size and some subtle differences in coloration on the thorax. May be a broader white speculum band on some samples of the Aleutians.

Aleutian teal are the biggest of the three.

I don't think I have ever knowingly shot a Eurasian GWT, but have killed a few Aleuts in the PNW. Cool birds for sure.
