Glock 43 vs 43x vs 48 insight

Glad I went back and read this cause I picked up the 43X MOS yesterday was just about to buy the Shield mags but will certainly look at the other ones before buying.

The word from Glock was that the metal mag catch will eventually wear the polymer in the frame. Metal vs polymer + movement is not a good combo.

I wonder if adding some graphite would mitigate this (possible) issue?

Metal on polymer, if both smooth, IMHO, should not be of a concern. Especially when it's only moving ~5/16", in the same directions, at a slow rate of speed. Granted, if it were a SUPER-FAST motion that actually built-up friction, then yeah, it makes sense, as the polymer would heat up and fail/warp before the metal...

The angle of travel has essentially no resistance, minus the spring. As long as a metal magazine catch is free of burrs and if properly finished/machined, I just don't comprehend how this could be a problem.

One of my 43's are running Shield mags & a metal catch. Another is with OEM release/mags. I don't have enough time on the modified one to have a (possible) issue develop.

I too question that... but in theory over a long enough timeline I'm certain with metal on polymer, the metal would win. I'd rather ruin a mag, than the gun's polymer handle.

That said, if I get the same increased round capacity of 15 with a Micro Dagger mag featuring a polymer face, making polymer on polymer contact, especially without having to spend more money for a metal mag catch, I'm going that route.
