I went for a quick 3 day trip out of state to hunt some hill country deer. I passed a few younger bucks on Monday and Tuesday and was thinking I was going to have to eat this tag after not seeing anything Wednesday morning with the weather getting hotter everyday. I got down out the tree at 10:30 Wednesday to go to the boat to eat some lunch and heard limbs breaking on the adjacent ridge at 10:45 as I was eating. This buck was walking a steep slope 160 yards away with the wind in his nose cruising for does. I hurried to get to the backside of the ridge in the direction he came from hoping he would make a loop at some point during the day. At 4pm he came down the backside of the ridge bumping a doe at 80 yards and I gave him a couple loud grunts and he broke away from the doe and ran into 40 yards. I killed him about 400 yards from where I saw him 5 hours earlier. I’m not sure what he weighed but he was over 200 pounds and wasn’t fun to get back up the hill.

    You’re ridiculous
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

I’m sure I also would have hurried to the backside of the ridge and waited for 5 hours on him. Not. You are the man. Congrats and great buck and story.

    I’d take that every day…

My all day hunts consist of eating little debbie snacks and shooting 4pts

You’re a damn cold blooded killer. Admirable. Congrats as I’m sure the consistency you kill big deer with is the result of a lot of hard work

Dang!!!! Need to learn from master!
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

You are as consistent at killing mature bucks with a bow as anyone I’ve ever seen. That isn’t luck. Once again, awesome job.
