Going to Louisiana in Dec to duck hunt. I don’t have to have hunters ed in SC. How will that work in La?
I’m not against taking the class, no need to do it if I don’t have to.

When we were in nodak years ago we just gave them ss# as our hunter Ed id #. They never questioned it.
I don’t think so. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to LA.
If another state requires it you have to have it to hunt in that state.
Heres a tip..... google it.
https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/page/h...pper-education...... if you were born on or after September 1, 1969, you must satisfactorily complete an LDWF-approved hunter education course and receive Hunter Education Certification prior to hunting in Louisiana, unless you are under direct supervision of a qualified person. (A qualified person is a Louisiana licensed hunter born before September 1, 1969, or a person 18 years of age or older who has a valid unrestricted Louisiana hunting license or proof of Hunter Education Certification. Direct supervision means the person being supervised is within normal audible voice contact and in direct line of sight of the supervising person at all times while hunting.)

Hunters Ed is a joke. Just give them your ssn.
It's just a data capture field. Key in a bunch of numbers, or your SC hunters ed id number. States dont do anything uniform.

Type in a random number or your SC hunting license number.
Some states require you to show the Hunters Ed card before they'll sell you the license.
You can take the class online pretty easily if needed.
from tman's post, it wont matter if you're going with a 54 yr old.
or use your SS# bc I am pretty sure that's your hunters ed number.
or take the online course.
those are your choices....
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
My hunter education card is somewhere in a gun safe, but I'm pretty sure it's my SS#. That's what I always put in when asked, never had an issue and never have been asked for a physical copy or proof.
I took one to hunt LA 8 or so years ago. I learned nada but I did it. Click, click, click, answer question, move on to the next chapter.
