    Sucks about the bear but that damned fat will plug a hole faster'n shit and you're left with no blood to follow. It looks like you're suffering from lack of freezer space now anyhow.

    The opportunities at that particular ranch dried up in the late 80's when the owner died and the family sold the place.

    That was the unfortunate thing about that shot on the bear. They are incredibly thick with fat at this time of year and even over 200 yards of travel, carrying a shot with a 1 5/8" dia head in that location, there was still NO blood.

    And yes, we're booked to go back to this same ranch next year. They fell in love with us. I mean, how could you not?!?
