    Default Temu

I've been seeing ads for it flashing across websites. Chinese crap for cents on the dollar.

What is it? What's the catch?

Shit's been showing up on my doorstep and asked the wife is she won the lottery. Said it's Temu. I am trying to find out what the catch is and how much it's really going to cost me.

It's a reboot of another site that recently got shut down. It's straight up Chinese made stuff, some good, some not. But half the crap we buy is made there anyway so seems to me that it's bootlegged before it leaves China and sold at a discount by skipping the US-based seller.

Either way it doesn't pass the smell test for me, but that certainly doesn't stop my dear wife from ordering. Stuff ships direct from China.

It appears to me that China is simply buying data. American consumers buy the stuff, China gets your info then combines it with what they already have on you from TikTok, etc and they will somehow use the Intel against us when they pull the trigger on invading Taiwan.

^^^ yup. Further proof (IMO) that the Chinese are some nefarious bastards. There are a ton of unfavorable articles on the web about this company.

Shipping is crazy fast from China. No different than Harbour Freight. Getting ready to go there now, need 1/2 extension. They have a lifetime warranty to boot.

I've used it and Ali Express.

I mean - buy the Chinese shit at Walmart or Amazon, or wait a few more days and get it at about a 90% discount... It's almost a no-brainer for some items.

Not gone lie, my wife was cruising Temu putting together an order and I had an idea... maybe they offer some gas can caps/spouts that don't have the safety bullshit the Left mandated. Sure enough they did.

I had her order a 3 or 4 piece set to replace all the spouts on cans not older than 13 or so years.

Both places have them. However, creativity comes in their ways of listing them. (I say that due to them often popping up as recommend products.)

I've also stumbled upon lightning links every now and then.

Needless to say, I don't even click on the damn things...
