Cat daddy is correct. Too much money and not nearly enough paving companies. Most are years out on work.

Y'all talked me out of it last time.

I am getting old and work too much. PT Clinics, apartments, legislature and 4 active expanding residential developments have me wondering what is important.

I threw money away for years attracting ducks. Now I travel for them. Much cheaper.

How do I get my kids to play with me? Expensive toys help. It sure ain't my personality.
I’d suggest doing the same for offshore fish. You and the boys can fly first class around the world catching fish for cheaper than you can own a sport fisher.

Why don't you tell your kids to buy the Sportfisher and take you fishing. If you got to buy stuff in order to get them to spend time with you, then one or both parties have their priorities wrong.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Looks like self-deprecating humor works for me around here about as good as the pompous a-hole role I play.

I get that. However, having your kids buy it or at least have some skin in the game isn't necessarily a bad idea. 2th would charge them guide fees if they were his kids.

Both boys have their first kids on the way. They do a good job with sweat equity like maintenance and cleaning but they don't have much money, yet.

The Jersey Cape looks good and the price ain't too bad either. Thanks

I can relate, both of mine are married off, new home owners and kids on the way too and fell into great careers.
They still love to hang out and kill stuff with their Dad but life is happening and sometimes gets in the way
They sometimes bite like fish if I'll dangle a shiny object or a trip in front of them too
It aint buying their love or attention, its just a Dad doing something with them and for them that they cant afford. Yet
    I get it

What is the boys rationale behind making the leap? These boats are an absolute maintenance nightmare right off the rip, you think you’ve spent money on ducks. They sure are pretty though!

I know so many secret boat companies more than any of you.

Keeping a boat in the water, while convenient, is a different animal than on a trailer. It’s a slow drip of money w some worry as well, esp during hurricane season. Higher dollar maintenance schedule. Good luck.

My gracious at this thread. Boat shaming. Name dropping. Monetary virtue signaling. Cats in the cradle. It’s got it all.
