Default Pinfish traps legal in SC ??

Buddy of mine was headed to coast next week for fishing vacation

He was asking me about bait in IOP area. He mentioned (grew up fishing inshore/nearshore in FL) he had couple pinfish traps

For some reason I was thinking pinfish traps were not legal in SC or at least used to be. Never could figure out why

It’s only a problem if you do it in an area where some ass hat would call the law on you for using it.

I feel confident enough in my faith that Jesus doesn’t care about pinfish traps, so I would use one if I had it
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Thanks for confirming that , not sure why it was in back of my mind when he mentioned it

I use a crab trap and always wondered what damn difference was

He has rented a place with dock, told him not sure why anyone would even notice or care

If he's not particular, he can get all the menhaden he wants with a cast net in the waterway.

Coal trestle pilings across from Remley ramp hold them, sabiki rig with tiny bits of shrimp on the hook.
...or a sabiki rig @ the channel markers.
Don't waste time on them if no bites move to the next buoy.
Have a spinning rod with a circle hook ready incase ya see a cobia around.
41004 almost always holds bait but I wouldn't run that far without trying in close first.
