That link to the basin wrench is the answer. I’ll get one tomorrow.
Thank you for the help, guys.

Make sure that escutcheon on the top side that's over that stem doesn't turn... I see a scenario where that might turn off allowing the other piece to fall through the granite. I doubt it, but just make sure.

You need a basin buddy. Lowes should have them.
Take the sink bowl out and will have more room
Also if they are one piece you can turn the body and not the nut
Looks like a job for a hammer to me.
“I can’t wait ‘till I’m grown” is the stupidest @!#* I ever said!
Hole saw
Backer rod
Lexel
"They are who we thought they were"
You can dress a fat chick up, but you cant fix stupid
I can come help. You hold the flashlight and call me daddy.
JFC please don't forget lefty loosely right tighty. Hit that mf with a flat head screwdriver and tapping device of choice
It most definitely will drop through once you get the brass escutcheon on top off. Turning from the bottom won't really help. Don't waste your money on the basin wrench it won't work with this faucet. Looks like an old crane faucet.

I believe that IS underneath.
That's the kind of thing that'll make a man cuss an engineer. You can't tell me there wasn't a reason that even a jam nut wouldn't work. But that basin wrench posted above *may open up enough to get a bite on that. Even still, the thin nature of that "nut" will make you swear. And I know how you swear.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
with all the stupid "reality" shit on TV these days, wouldnt people tune in to some live feed in FISH's house as he gets frustrated with stuff like this?
I mean, I'd probably watch, just for laughs.
