How did it go this weekend? Can't wait to get down there. Plan to leave here Thursday afternoon and get there around 7 or 8 Thursday night.

we weighed alot of big cats. a few stripers were caught this weekend. the shellcrackers are moving into the banks. i think this weekend should be good. the lake will be on a quick rise from the upstates heavy rains.

I am jealous....you need to find a way to get some of those stripers and blues to live in my water up here in Iowa. Hope they keep biting for you!

Hey Shelben the cats ARE really starting to eat it up, with some bigguns being caught. I am having some serious trouble with the stripers though.. But if I was a bettin man I would say you have a pretty good chance of hitting it on the right weekend...
I am working at the hunting club on Sat., but I will probably give em a shot on Sun. morning..
You gonna have them Bloody Mary's ready????

Here is a link to the story I wrote for www.iowaoutdoors.org, the website in Iowa dedicated to hunting and fishing across the state that I help run and write for.

    Mirroman,

We can hook you up. I was thinking more on the lines of vodka and MountainDew Code Red though. I figure we will probably fish until ~noon on Sunday so I can get back to Wilmington to be able to spend a little time w/the family Sunday night. However, looking at the weather forecast for Sunday that may be difficult to do.

BTW, how are the big cats for eating? I have never eaten anything over about five pounds. I need to bring some fillets home with me because a buddy of mine killed the tuna last weekend and has offered to swap out some tuna loins for some catfish and I am down to my last bag of tuna in the freezer.

I personally do not eat them over about 15 lbs.
But if you are trading them out then I wouldn't worry..
Just make sure and cut all the red meat out...
