No.. Got a copy and paste??? Or just Cliff Notes?

If that is so, then there is a self sustaining population in the Saluda River...
Just an article by a guy that believes the fact that our fish aren't snowbirds and what fishermen do here and now may determine the fate of the fishery. He then tells every Tom, Dick and Harry where and how to catch them which kind of squashes the potential his title might have had IMHO.Originally posted by mirroman:

The bios have put forth a plan with good supporting evidence. Nobody seems to want to make the sacrifice to give it a chance to work. I also haven't heard anybody address it in detail and give any kind of coherent reasoning as to why it is misguided.

I may be a bit "misguided". I am not talking about what they are trying to do now. Esp. b/c I don't know what their plan is. I would be willing to sacrifice just about everything to get the #'s back to where they were 5 years ago.
I was pretty much expressing the fact of why in the past 3 years the stripers have disappeared.
----------------------------------<br />I\'m getting worser!!!
Because people caught all of those pitiful stockers that DNR put in. The REAL question is why the REAL stripers started dissapearing 15 years ago....Originally posted by mirroman:

RE-DIVERSION!!! Go ahead S.S. hit me with it.

I guess JAB is going to have to define "real stripers" before that can be addressed. Besides, I'm only about a buck sixty five so hitting people is something that has never worked out well for me.

I'm glad the folks at the Roanoke or the lower Savannah didn't use 15 year old conspiracy theories as a reason not to sacrifice and get their populations back.
OK. That was the best "jab" I could muster.

"real stripers"
-migratory, swim from the ocean up the rivers to spawn then back to the ocean???????????
"unreal stripers"
-stocked, land locked??????????????????
I will be the first to admit I know none of the science behind any of this, only using common sense.(Which in my case is highly debatable)
All I can go by is seeing the good times turn to bad times. Just like I can SEE that comorants are a problem, water levels are a problem, or maybe flow rate to sustain proper egg development.
All in all I know that there aren't as many stripers now as there were then.....And I want them back!!!

RE-DIVERSION AND A FISH BASKET OF A SO CALLED FISH LIFT!
JP111
If rediversion is the cause in your opinion, explain why. Then, refute all the reasons that the bios are giving.

I beleive a lot are being hit by comorants. We used not have the huge flocks of these birds at the Broad & Saluda that we have had these past 2 years.
I also believe Sanfords raid on DNR has not done a bit of good to any program DNR has had.
And the damn grasscarps have done away with so much cover for all fish in Marion. Young fish get eaten. I don't know about Moultrie since I don't fish there.
the bios? refute the bios. you got to be joking right.who would refute the most world renown bios. for heavens sake they created the striped bass. lol
JP111
I hear there are plenty in Lake Moutrie right now. The males are full of sperm and the females are full of eggs.
Must not be river fish.
I think I said refute their reasoning. Seems like you of all people would give a damn.Originally posted by JP111:

the final answer, re- deversion. I will not talk about this ever again. my friends know that i am very passionate about striped bass and all of santee cooper. i will not waste my time debating what i already have lived and experinced daily.
JP111
Is it just me or have you said that before? If you are so convinced and this is so important to you, why can't you EXPLAIN why for the rest of us that would like to see this situation turned around?Originally posted by JP111:
