Any input on good duck spots in the upstate area to hunt this season?

The best places for the last five years or so has consistantly been the Tin Bucket Ridge and Thunder Island area.

Lake Murray is worth the drive. It's the SC hotspot.

Thanks for the welcome. Great site! Last few years I've been floating (canoe) some rivers up here. It's been successful but it gets tricky at times and very difficult with a dog. Upper end of Murray is about as close driving time as Hartwell for me. I'll try both.

That is the beauty of wateree. Sometimes your are the only hunter on the lake. When there are folks out there they are the most ethical hunters I have ever seen. Also a great place to here some world class duck calling. The public dove fields on hwy 261 are also worth looking into while your out in that direction.

dp these guys are messing with you.
the upstate is tough to hunt.
all major lakes are overcrowded, but if you get up early you can have "decent" hunts. mostly divers. of course there is good public land with woodies and a few wild mallards, but it is often hard to find. if its not hard to find, it will be crowded.
scout around, youve got plenty of time.

Thanks Sportin. I guess it makes sense, if you work to find a honey hole, the last thing you want is to advertise it to the whole state.
