This one walked in at 60 yards down a hill coming right at me. He decided to turn and walk through some brush and was walking away when I grunted and he turned towards me and came within 20 yards. Walked in dropped off the stuff and grabbed the dog and let him track. The dog tracked him well. 168lbs 8point. Biggest body deer I have taken. Ended up dragging him 700 yards.

“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965
