He keeps talking about being high and climbing down on Sunday morning so I’m going with him being in the tree.

Does following them mean you are going to hell? Nope. You be you...
My opinion on that is charismatic "preachers" (for lack of a better word) attract weak minded people. If you remember back when anyone said anything negative about Perry Noble his "followers" would attack and threaten them. Not very Christlike in my way of thinking. Simon Peter found that out when he lopped the ear off the Malchus the high priest's servant in the garden and was admonished by Jesus? And then Simon Peter himself betrayed Jesus 3 times before the cock crowed. Proof that we better let God handle his own. It's not our job.

Noble finally screwed his own pooch, which I figured was only a matter of time. All of these kind eventually self-implode. Thankfully he didn't take 800 weak minded people with him down his path of destruction like Jones did. God works in mysterious ways. He can turn bad things into His favor. Read the Bible, God did that many times. Maybe once God took out the trash (Noble) He turned the church for His good. That's not for me to decide either. Way above my pay grade.

There is a name for this kind of church goer it's "preacher worship." They come to church for the preacher not the Word.

Most so called mega churches have charismatic leaders. All cults have charismatic leaders.

But all that aside, I posted this because of the sick puke who did the deed, not about the club/church/cult (whatever) where he was a member.

The only thing in the article about the church that concerned me was this part:

A statement from the church said it was made aware of the concern and possibility of Hazlett's "inappropriate interaction with children," according to the station.

A letter was sent to parents of preschool children who attend the North Charleston campus, The Post and Courier reported.
Did the church know in advance that this guy was a potential pervert and still let him work with the kids. It's not exactly clear in the statement.

I would take that to mean they notified anyone who might have been in contact with the child molester after they found out about it

Don't be dissing Kris. He was an Army Ranger (Captain) and helicopter pilot.

Kristofferson, under pressure from his family, ultimately joined the U.S. Army and attained the rank of captain. He became a helicopter pilot after receiving flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He also completed Ranger School. During the early 1960s, he was stationed in West Germany as a member of the 8th Infantry Division. During this time, he resumed his music career and formed a band. In 1965, when his tour of duty ended, Kristofferson was given an assignment to teach English literature at West Point. Instead, he decided to leave the Army and pursue songwriting. His family disowned him because of his career decision, and sources are unclear on whether or not they reconciled. They saw it as a rejection of everything they stood for, in spite of the fact that Kristofferson has said he is proud of his time in the military, and received the American Veterans Awards "Veteran of the Year Award" in 2003.
Before that he was a scholar and an athlete.

Like most "military brats", Kristofferson moved around frequently as a youth, finally settling down in San Mateo, California, where he graduated from San Mateo High School in 1954. An aspiring writer, Kristofferson enrolled in Pomona College that same year. He experienced his first dose of fame when he appeared in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" for his achievements in collegiate rugby union, American football, and track and field. He and his classmates revived the Claremont Colleges Rugby Club in 1958, which has remained a southern California rugby institution. Kristofferson graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in literature. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa his junior year. In a 2004 interview with Pomona College Magazine, Kristofferson mentioned philosophy professor Frederick Sontag as an important influence in his life.

Kristofferson earned a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University, where he studied at Merton College. While at Oxford, he was awarded his Blue for boxing, played rugby for his college, and began writing songs. At Oxford, he was also acquainted with fellow Rhodes scholar, art critic, and poet Michael Fried. With the help of his manager, Larry Parnes, Kristofferson recorded for Top Rank Records under the name Kris Carson. Parnes was working to sell Kristofferson as "a Yank at Oxford" to the British public; Kristofferson was willing to accept that promotional approach if it helped his singing career, which he hoped would enable him to progress towards his goal of becoming a novelist. This early phase of his music career was unsuccessful. In 1960, Kristofferson graduated with a B.Phil. degree in English literature.
The story behind "Why Me Lord," his biggest singing hit, is pretty interesting too.

My question is that if the church has video surveillance capability throughout the church, AND has a policy that supposedly mandates two adult volunteers with all children at all times, AND this guy - after a lengthy after-the-fact review - shows up on tape as having molested upwards of 14 kids, or at least kids on 14 occasions, WHY didn't the church security identify this problem after the FIRST OR SECOND occasion? The fact that they didn't says that they aren't monitoring or at least reviewing their security tapes, which means they don't have any security for the kids until after the fact. That's bull crap in my book.
