SEC teams in the top 10 - 2
ACC teams in the top 10 - 0

SEC teams in the top 15 - 2
ACC teams in the top 15 - 2

SEC teams in the top 20 - 1
ACC teams in the top 20 - 1

SEC teams in the top 25 - 1
ACC teams in the top 25 - 0

Total ranked SEC teams - 6
Total ranked ACC teams - 3

All of the hype about whether the ACC is better than the SEC is clearly exercised in the national polls. USC has to play 2 teams in the top 5 this year. CU only has to play 2 nationally ranked teams this year and the highest of the two are ranked at no. 12. We just played LSU, no. 2, and now we still have to play no.4, T-blow and the gators. We should remain ranked higher than CU for the rest of the year just based on schedules.

All i hear from tater fans is "USC should not be ranked because we haven't played anyone but UGA and they are highly overrated..blah blah blah" We beat UGA and that is the only loss they have suffered so far this year. UGA beat Alabama this weekend which was ranked #16 at the time. I can almost guarantee that UGA will end up up having a 9-10 win season this year. They beat the pants off a solid OK St. and the only losses they will pick up the rest of the season will come from the gators and maybe a strong Kentucky team, which is ranked at #14 right now.

On the other end of the spectrum, the only team that CU has beaten that has been worth a damn is FSU. They were ranked highly coming into the season at #11. FSU was highly overrated though. CU played a good game against the 'noles on both sides of the ball. Everyone can agree that they played a good game against the 'noles and I'm not trying to take any wind out of CU fan's sails by any means at all. The week after the tater's big win over FSU, FSU almost lost to UAB and since then FSU has not even been mentioned. I can almost guarantee you that FSU with end the season 6-6 suffering losses from Alabama, Miami, Boston College, Florida, and possibly VT.

Realistically USC finishes the season at 9-3. Gaining big wins at home over Miss St., Kentucky, Vandy, and Clemson. We will also pick up road wins at NC, Tenn, and possibly Ark. Even though we have a huge advantage over Florida at home i think we still loose but if Florida shows up and makes a few mistakes and we can capitalize at home then it is not out of the question. Arkansas is a toss up since we are on the road against them. As for the CU/USC game, i believe we will edge them out due to the simple fact that we play them @ willie brice and by the end of the season their running game will be beat up and battered and Harper's flaws will have been exposed by now.

Clemson finishes the year 8-4. Though the tigers are off to a 4-0 start we saw how they started off last year (7-1) and finished (1-4). Clemson will suffer two consecutive losses in the coming weeks, GT away and VT at home. GT is 0-2 in ACC conference play but both their losses came against a very strong BC and a surprising VA team. The outcome of the GT/VA game was solely based on VA's home field advantage. As we remember last year VT was the first team to expose the flaws the CU's running game and everyone else picked up on this. I believe that it will be the very opposite this year. VT exposes the holes in Harper and CU's passing game. Then CU bounces back and wins the next 4 straight against Central Michigan, Maryland, Duke, and Wake. Home field advantage will play a major role in the win against Wake. CU will then end on 2 straight losses to BC and USC. Though CU has BC at home they will not be able to beat the ACC powerhouse BC, the Atlantic Divison champs and ACC champs. Finally, CU's regular sesaon ends with a big L at Willie Brice in Cola. as long as USC can contain CU's ground game.

Both teams go on to big bowl games with the opportunities to post another W in the win column after having successful seasons.

We are now entering into the fifth week of college football and UGA is still nationally ranked at #15. My 2 questions to tater fans now is...(1)Where is FSU now and do you still feel that yall beat a worthy opponent that was really #11? (2) How "overrated" is UGA in comparison to FSU?

RC, I agree somewhat, however, there is no such thing as a solid Oklahoma State team. They are horrible.

The polls are pretty close.

Clemson should be a spot or two above USC. They are playing good ball and seem to be getting better every week.

Weekly polls reflect the record up to that point.

Who they play in two weeks is irrelevant.

The polls are fairly accurate as far as I can tell. Clemson hasn't played much so far but they are putting a lot of points on the board and the defense looks pretty good.

Carolina beat a decent Ga. team, beat two bad teams and lost to who i think should be the number one team in the country. They are both in that 12 - 18 range right now from what I've seen.

If our offense doesn't get better in the next few games we will not be in the top 25 by the end of the season. As good as our defense has been, at least against the pass, we cannot win games in the SEC leaving them on the field the whole game.

very fair assessment rc.
LSU has one of the hardest hitting defenses I have seen grace a college football field.

LSU has the dirtiest defense I have ever seen take the field. Physical is OK, but all the late hits, facemasks, and body slams ofter the whistle are signs of soon to be ex-cons.

But for my first weekend watching SEC ball, I thought it was a good football game.

And catching the OBC off gaurd with the over the shoulder fake.......not to shabby.

The bayou bengals are def. the meanest cats in the jungle (and rightfully so). They are head and shoulders better than any team in the country. Their passing game is their weakest link, but their running game along with that nasty D are the best in the country.

Question- Why wasn't that faked field goal blown dead? The holder's knee was down when he flipped it backwards. I saw this recently in a high school game and it was called back. Just a thought.

Seriously, if any Clemson fan can tell me with a straight face and without their tongue in their cheek that they are the #13 team in the nation I might just give them my Clemson/Carolina tickets. On second thought no I wont. I'm going to call the Mental Hospital and have them committed!

Who has Clemson played to deserve #13? And just so you know I NEVER thought Carolina deserved to be ranked as high as they were last week!

These polls are a FREAKING JOKE!

actually FSU was #19, and while they may have been a little overrated, at the time, i feel as if they were no more overrated than UGAly

UGA did just beat a pretty damn good Bama team on the road. Gotta give em some props for that.

Like I said the polls are a FREAKING JOKE!

Let's face it FSU hasn't been the FSU of old. So come with something better than that.

My point is Clemson fans should not be getting all Jaded by their #13 ranking. I'm happy for 'em but come on do you really put that much stock in that ranking?

I agree with you Squatty. But I don't think Carolina is a #16 team either. Do you? If so...you probably don't deserve those tickets either and it is a lot shorter trip for you to Bull Street than most Clemson fans....

The polls are the polls and I guess they are just somebodies opinion but how does Carolina beat Georgia and then lose to LSU, the number 2 team in the country, and wind up behind Ga in the poll. I continue to scratch my head on that one. Congrats to both teams and I hope they are both in the top ten when they play around Thanksgiving. SC football is coming back to a respectable level. did LSU play like a #2 team?

There were a lot of missed opportunities......

I never heard of Clemson before I found this site, and with the schedule they play, How do they even get votes?

The ACC is weak!!
