I want your bycatch for tarpon bait.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Gas and beer on me next time I'm down if you can put us on something other than sharks. 10" mullet getting beheaded and leaders cut as soon as we put baits out last time we tried for them. Maybe I'll see if Mr. Skinner could put us on some in his new boat, if he ever targets tarpon.

Can you pull nets recreationally in SC, or do you do it commercially? I feel gout coming on just looking at those shrimp, but that would be fun to dabble in.

Commercial license. The guy I was with used to pull a 25 foot net behind a 18 foot boat. He did for many years. There was a 17' boat pulling a net in the sound Sat.

This was on his 28' trawler pulling a 45' that he's had for several years. It's a lot of work but he's got it down. The right equipment and experience pays off. He did say the learning curve was long, flipped doors, snags, tangles, rigging issues,...but he's got it now

In Alabama you could pull a 15 ft net or less with a recreational license. When I lived in mobile I found an old 15 ft net on Craigslist and used to pull it behind my 15 high tide for shits and giggles

Yep. Kind like cobia in the banks. It's a beer drink. But still, Croaker's.

In spite of trying, I've never intentionally hooked a tarpon. But the %&€$@S have spooled me surf fishing with live mullet for spottails.
