    Default Sumter SCDNR duck banding

    I was at lowes last week when I saw 2 dnr people get some PVC tubing,flat spray paint,and some treated wood.They mentioned to the cashier that it was for a duck banding project.Has anyone heard any rumors what and where they're banding?Are they banding tamies again?

    SCDNR and USFWS typically band wood ducks this time of year

    My son and I went down several years ago and did that...it was pretty interesting and a lot of fun for the kids .
    If it aint got 8 toes & a green head,it aint a duck.

    Ya the state DU convention is this weekend, here's some info. I know a bunch of guys going. I wish I was. Maybe next year. 4 month old has my time right now.

    This DUCKS UNLIMITED filled weekend includes;
    - Friday Morning Waterfowl Workshop day at the Santee National Wildlife Refuge lead by Regional Biologist. The day will start with an early morning duck banding session followed by touring the refuge to see your DU dollars at work here in SC.
    - After checking in at The Francis Marion join SCDU for a beautiful Charleston Harbor Sunset Cruise. The Cruise will include a Seafood Dinner with an open bar and live music.
    - Join SCDU Saturday morning for a conservation update to learn more about what DU is doing in SC and across North America. After the conservation report all attendees are welcome to join SCDU leaders for our State Committee meeting. Saturday night SCDU will host the Annual Awards Gala and live auction.
