    Default Rubbing One Out

Get your mind out of the gutter! Nothing prettier to me than a snub nose wheel gun in stainless or nickel.
This is a rare vintage S&W Model 37 in nickel and an air weight, Just polished it, the pics don't do it justice, this mirror shine will blind you
Its a pleasure to carry, super lightweight IWB.
Three more revolvers to go tonight and tomorrow night I am going to break down and deep clean the full size 1911s.

Not sure about Rick, but I've used rubbing compound and mag rim polish.

Negative, but I still have it. Yours was the same gun just not an airweight.
I think yours is a model 36 and this is a model 37

Another way is to tape varying levels of automotive sandpaper to a granite tile.

Just slide the frame along the wet paper and work up to the desired level of gloss.

Did this once with a Colt stainless 1991A1 and it turned out looking like a mirror on the flats; I blasted it first with aluminium oxide. Made for a sweet contrast.

Never taken more than a lint free cloth to this one but it’s nickel plated. Is the polishing process different from nickel to stainless? Seems what’s been mentioned would eff up this one.

Older nickel is probably thicker than newer.

Regardless, I wouldn't personally wetsand nickel.

I have wet sanded stainless to perfection, super fine paper and gun oil and go with the grain. Yes, stainless has a grain.
I wouldn't dare do it to nickel. Nickel is a plating process and can be taken off as well as chip.
