    Default Auto repair question

So my wife has a 2013 Acadia with 85000 miles on it. When the car changes from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th the car vibrates/ shakes pretty bad. No lights are on and otherwise the car runs fine. Any ideas I may need to go visit A2Z. Hoping I don’t need a new transmission.

Out of warranty? They have a 5/yr, 100,000/mile powertrain on that year.

Out by 2 months. Bought in April 2013. Hoping all I need is a service and not a replacement

Yes we are original owner. Just found warranty stuff and it’s 6 years 85000 miles. Car currently has 85756 miles one it. Started acting up on the way to west palm beach last Friday at that time we were under the 85000 mark. Looks like our trip just go a lot more expensive.

They are bad for transmissions. Timing chains will be next.

Do a quick search on internet. There are several discussions regarding Acadia and similar problems.

Good ol GM 3.6 stretched timing chain. Although it typically stores a P0008,P0009, or P0300 code.

I’m no mechanic but this has work for me before. Problem was a little different though as it didn’t shake while switching gears.

Wave plates are broke in 3/5/6/r . Overhaul the unit with Tcm and convertor is a 4300 job

If it’s the timing chain or the wave plates, GM extended the warranty to 10 years 120k miles.

Kevin, you ever hear of Ford extending warranties for “known issues”..? Seems to me the general reaction is: Here’s your TSB, we know about it, good day and thank you for buying Ford!
