    Irrigation systems are nice....
as long as you know how they work and how to fix them when something breaks.

Make sure you spend the extra $50-$100 for a rain sensor. Nothing looks more dorky than your sprinkler running during a down pour.

Good suggestion. I'm about to order a new replacement face panel for mine. It is Wi-Fi capable.

Rain sensors are old technology and humidity or condinsation can keep your system from running. I purchased a “rain machine” last year. I can control it from the panel, my phone, or my computer or anyone else’s computer for that matter. It’s connected to WIFI and reads NOAA and the weather channel every 30 minutes. It automatically adjust itself to the rainfall we get. It set not to run during certain months, not come on when temps fall below a certain temp and to run more when temps get really hot. To say I’ve been pleased with the rain machine is an understatement. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Best assessment on an irritation system you’ll get.

I have an irrigation system. I never turn it on. If the grass don't grow, I got more time for something else I enjoy. No since in creating more work for yourself.

Negative. System works great every time I turn it on. I've worked on plumbing and irrigation for many years of my "career". Just don't see the need to water my grass. If the Lord want to make it rain, I'm good with that. If not, I'm good with that too.

I guess I should also clarify for you that when I turn it on it's because my kids want to play.

    Carry on...

    Good try though.

They’re mandated in many places - the WiFi controllers are great but can be complicated. KISS
