    Default What kind of Weed/Grass

Is this? It’s not crab grass but it is popping up everywhere.

Looks like Nutgrass. Aka yellow nutsedge. You can confirm by the seed head that almost looks like a sandspur.

Sedgehammer is supposed to be the best at it getting rid of it. It's really meant for spot spraying. I'm about to overspray my entire yard with it. I'll let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks.

I’ve been trying to get this junk out of my yard for three years. I have even had it treated by two separate people

Nutsedge is the Devil incarnate. In addition to Sedgehammer you can find Image at your local Lowes. You can get IMage in an "attach to your hose bottle" that requires no mixing. It will kill it but you have to be vigilant as it's not a 1 and done application in my experience!

I'm in the same boat. Didn't have much luck with image but didn't stay on it. Got some sedge hammer and surfactant to apply next week.

It looks like yellow nutsedge as stated. Image took about 2-3 weeks, but it died off in my yard after 1 application.

Mow it and go sand your skillet.

    I'd sand the skillet first.

    Then again after.

Sedgehammer is decent on yellow, but sucks on purple. Monument, Katana, dismiss and Certainty are all better than Sedgehammer and possibly Tribute Total.

I was told that if you haven’t sprayed purple nutsedge by June 1, it has already stored enough carbs to come back next spring.
