i called feets about that same shit in my new sod last year....
in other words, prayers sent (for having to talk to the feets)
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Looks like Nutgrass. Aka yellow nutsedge. You can confirm by the seed head that almost looks like a sandspur.
Sedgehammer is supposed to be the best at it getting rid of it. It's really meant for spot spraying. I'm about to overspray my entire yard with it. I'll let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks.
That is northern lights cannabis indica.
I’ve been trying to get this junk out of my yard for three years. I have even had it treated by two separate people

Yellow nutsedge
Nutsedge is the Devil incarnate. In addition to Sedgehammer you can find Image at your local Lowes. You can get IMage in an "attach to your hose bottle" that requires no mixing. It will kill it but you have to be vigilant as it's not a 1 and done application in my experience!
Add surfactant. Make it sticky
Chufa
Let it grow it's green

It looks like yellow nutsedge as stated. Image took about 2-3 weeks, but it died off in my yard after 1 application.
HRCH DOC'S LIL LEGACY MH
We use sedge hammer at the golf course where i work, it usally takes care of it pretty quick.
I'm with Glenn... mow that crap. It all looks the same then.
Sedgehammer is decent on yellow, but sucks on purple. Monument, Katana, dismiss and Certainty are all better than Sedgehammer and possibly Tribute Total.
I was told that if you haven’t sprayed purple nutsedge by June 1, it has already stored enough carbs to come back next spring.
