I’m in Arizona for a training class so it was only 9pm here.

Sucks when all your customers start blowing your phone up at 7 am and it’s 4 am where you are though....

Speaking of passwords, do most of you folks use a password manager app?

    Here's a tip:

I work in a computer security function. My work requires me to have multiple, very complicated passwords that have to be changed often. I use a program named LastPass that keeps up with them. It has a browser extension that automatically fills in the blanks any time a website gives you a username/password challenge. It automatically remembers new usernames and passwords when you set up accounts too. What make it different from the same function in most browsers is that it can synch them with an app you run on your phone and on multiple workstations and is reachable via the internet if you need to use a public workstation. If you need to change passwords for a site, it can automatically generate unguessable passwords. Everything is stored encrypted. You can have different, very hard to hack password on every site you visit and all you have to remember is one master password. Using the same one or two passwords for multiple sites is extremely dangerous. If someone hacked SCDucks, for instance, and gets your password, they will try it on Amazon, Cabelas, Midway, Ebay, etc.

Good tip PB. For most people the browser password stuff is fine. But you are exactly right in that password should be different, unique, and random.

Good tip PB. I need to set up something like that for sure. Got tons of passwords that are all very similar and difficult to keep up with them all.

This is SCDUCKS, everyone is trolling to see , What’s the best shotgun to buy or how to pond fish or which lure for catfish. I think if someone hacks this website, they are looking for placement of Yeti, Drake or heybo stickers on jacked up pavement pounding F-250’s.

LastPass has been my saving grace. Not only for the sensibility of having different passwords, but that many websites now require varied password length, capital letter, special character, numbers, etc.

Makes life much simpler, especially since it's a shared app across multiple platforms. It's also much more secure than browser stored passwords.

I have a spreadsheet with all my passwords and usernames that I update when needed.

If you keep a spreadsheet, you should find a program to encrypt it. Hackers will search your files for anything that looks like it contains usernames and passwords.
