Go bigger name and recoup your resale when you decide to go 28 - 30. Regulator or Southport. While my personal dollars have not been spent on a boat in that size the cost spent on a bit higher tier boat seems to be worth it when venturing into the 25'+ range.
Scout.....
I'm going to heaven for the weather and hell for the company.
Be dangerous, unpredictable, and make a whole lot of noise.
What do you want to do with it? I was on a 251 this weekend. It’s was plush, but confused about what it wants to be.
I fish on a 25 Sea Hunt regularly and its a good riding boat but I prefer the layout of the open style sportsman as far as bilge access and transom layout for fishing. I haven't been on a 25 sportsman other than looking around on one at the dealer.
If you want to ride around the lake/inshore both will work. If it was my money id be looking for something with a 24 degree deadrise at the transom.
Scout is plus 35K.
Lake, Georgetown, Keys, rarely offshore.

Pathfinder 25' hybrid
What will you be primarily using it for?
With those uses in mind which one of the two are built to support the Yamaha 425?!?! You can be the first on here to buy one and let us know if it's worth the weight...
Go sea trial/demo both and get back to us.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
We did get a 23 Sportsman three years ago. Want to do the Abacos next year. Keys again this July. Spend the most time on Lake Marion.
I am in the market for a mid-priced boat. Wife is buying again.
