Epic ha, there are a 150 boats fishing today if 30 get caught it would be a good day for them. I don’t think that is epic.

Agree...while this tournament has a storied history and is a ball to fish, the notoriety has nothing to do with the quality of fishery...just the amount of the check you can cash.

Last year if I recall correctly there were only around 150 or so releases out of 180ish boats...and that is fishing four out of six. Over 700 cummulative days on the water and only 150 releases? For instance Bohicket this year had around 40 boats and 30+ releases with those boats fishing only two of three.

You want to talk about epic for around here?? 100 sailfish releases last year at Edisto by 30 boats.

Epic is a word used by fags and hipsters. Numbers guy knows what’s up.

Epic is when you catch 21 sails and 7 wahoo inn one day.
Very dissappointed is when you didn't think they would bite so you declined the invitation.

    Hear, hear!
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

you salt life guys are one tough bunch.
impressed by the billfish bite, as in every couple minutes. seemed to me like a good day on a lake, much less in the salt hooking up marlin.

someone tell jose wejebe i apologize for my lingo faux pas.

You can always tell an Uplander when they refer to the ocean as "the salt"...

ETA: Not for for nothing, but they should read "Cory" and "Ilander".....don't want Jose to come up from the grave and get you.

What happens if it's below the minimum? Is there a penalty or just the shame of killing a small one?

Usually, it's best to just stop digging.

And most who actually fish in saltwater giggle at the Salt Life types.

Homer wrote epics. Catching fish that you don't plan to eat is hard to compare to the Iliad.

Used to be 400 point penalties, both on the weighin and release side....been out of the game for a good number of years now but imagine it's much the same.

It's a fact. If they held that tournament in September, hookups would quadruple.
