Default Boat mechanics in the midlands area

I have taken this boat in to a local Lexington mechanic 3 times in 5 years for the same issue and his fixes never seem to last more than one season. Problem is whenever I throttle up to get on plain and it will run on plain for 15-20 seconds and then starts cutting out and the fuel line bubble will be soft. Once you pump it back up the throttle picks back up. Any recommendations on a good boat mechanic or possible remedies to the situation are appreciated

You got a high and or low pressure pump issue.

I would start by replacing the fuel line. Sounds like it has a pin hole leak and is sucking air.

Redo the fuel line or at the very least check all fittings at connections.

What size / make motor? VRO / fuel pump?

I was having fuel related trouble on my old 50 hp Johnson and pulled the VRO fuel pump (oil injection had been deactivated for years) and put a $35.00 diaphragm pump. Runs like a top now.

Sounds like if you replaced it 3 times in the last 5 years you need to find a better quality replacement or run ethanol free if you aren’t doing so.

rebuild the carbs and make sure the butterflys are in sync to wide open throttle position, then put a new
diaphragm in fuel pump (simple and cheap) then replace line, bulb and clamps from the tank to the motor
    and fuggetaboutit

Run it off of a 6 gallon tank to isolate whether or not you have a tank/supply issue or a motor issue. Report back....
