why do people carry the cheapest gun possible to the places where they are more likely to need one functioning properly?

I have a Taurus revolver for the boat also, stainless with rubber grip, always goes bang when its supposed to and is accurate enough for boat ramp trouble. If it somehow falls over . . . I dont have to spend 600.00 to replace it.

Its carried because its light, I trust it a lot, I can shoot it accurately, and when I fall in the water I can shake it off, replace the bullets and it keeps on keepin on. Its a great gun and its not the only one I have with me usually, i just wear it because of its size... but thank you for your concern.

Doesn't really apply here, either. Whether he or she is going hunting or fishing or not, they could have had a gun in the console and done work if they felt in fear of loss of life or serious bodily injury.

No denying your point, but they were merely poking fun at the idea of a pricey gun at a sketchy place. Sort of like drinking pricey scotch under a bridge.

I was making a joke..... That being said, got a couple Ruger P95s that have been my truck guns for years. They have never failed to fire. I know the 80s called and want their guns back, and they are ugly, but they are some of the best bang for buck pistols ever made.

I have a 300 blkout AR pistol in the rod locker every boat ride. Then goes under truck back seat.
It’s an intimidating looking son of a bitch to say the least
