Yes, Take a battery powered impact wrench and when ever you stop for gas, throw a couple of pumps of slickum in the hubs.

I’m heading to Key West in about an hour. My brother is is having tenant issues at his house down there so we are making a road trip. If the weather cooperates, we’re going to try fishing and maybe a little diving.

One of my spares is mounted to a spare hub.
I take an PLB in the shower with me. Can't ever be too safe.

You want my two cents? Hire a local guide for a half day. Oh and bring a spare tire and hub.

I guess I prepared my trailer well before going, no issues with hubs or tires, but I did prepare if we did have issues. Was informed when I got into Florida that they like to write tickets for not having the rear of your boat strapped down.

I use 4 10k lb straps all the time, 2 at the bow pulling down and back and 2 on the stern. On keys trips, I throw another one over the gunnels. One might say it’s over kill but I don’t want that big thing coming through the cab in a wreck.

The hardest decision you will have to make is "what do I want to catch today"? Offshore dolphin and blackfin. On the reef, yellowtail, mutton, several grouper, etc. Flats, tarpon, permit, and bonefish. Bridges, snapper, jacks, grouper, permit, etc. Backcountry, tarpon, snook, spottail bass, sheepshead, trout, etc. Islamorada hump is 10.8 miles off of the Whale Harbor channel. On a clear day you can see the Alligator Reef lighthouse from there.

Make sure the extra trailer has two spare tires and two spare hubs..

Have a good trip and catch some fish.

If you're taking a spare car and trailer, you might as well take a spare boat too.

Don't forget a spare prop for the spare boat...and an extra anchor... and some spare rods.

It's kind of difficult at times, but I've noticed there's a lot less stress on trailer tires if you keep it around the speed limit.

I am as also. Well I mean I don't drive like a bat out of Hades, but I don't use cruise control that often.
