    Default New habitat

I went to John Deere in Mills River this morning and all the rivers and streams have flooded out into the valleys. Mallards in horse pastures, summer ducks everywhere. SuperSod was flooded halfway up their irrigation sytems deep. Rain still falling, predicted through Saturday...

so you're saying its time to get a little more use out of my CP?

I'm in. Any chance the smallies are biting, too. Could make it a cast and blast?

I've seen some videos of rivers up your way raging and running browner than chocolate milk. Crazy that any trout or smallmouth could keep from getting washed 50 miles downstream or bashed against rocks and killed.

They do. You can pick trout up in fields and pastures right along with the dead horses.

I heard a lot of the bottom land corn up there was in trouble or already gone.

Parts of Laurens county have received over 4 inches in the last 48 hours

A lot of the corn was flooded, but it hasn't even jointed yet up here so there is plenty of time to replant what doesn't make it.

Farmlogs tells me that our Laurens tract is at 24" since 1/1/18. Similarly, up here we are at 49" to date.

If y'all are not using it, Farmlogs lets you pick a field, pond, or tract and records the rainfall, heat units, etc. It is free and I have found the data to be close enough to dead on balls accurate to be worthwhile...

Fairly accurate for the northern corner. Thankfully it hasn't been rough stuff.

More like oh boy, more grass. I did this deal already, spent a summer 5 years ago keeping up three yards and about 8 acres to cut. When the sun shined it was shining on a running lawn mower.

This was between Clinton, Mountville and Laurens

    That is an interesting app.

I have started logging data into CoCoRaHS, which is full of information. I can't remember if someone on here pointed it out, or if it was somewhere else.
