Dental nematodes.
damn. Need more fluoride at my bait sites
2.5
15-30 months old. Based on number of molars and pre molars. And the last molar hasn’t fully erupted which is found in adults (30mo+).
ETA: just my best guess. Here is the chart I use when I check a does jaw. I like to see age vs. weight. https://extension2.missouri.edu/g9484

yanking a jawbone and aging deer at a WMA check station used to be done on a regular basis by DNR biologist- most were happy so show what they were doing and how to age the deer yourself. I haven't seen it done since the mid 1990's.
You don't have to remove the lower jaw to do it, just slit the mouth open wide and wedge it open for examination.
Wiz18 shot ya straight. Young. 1.5 ish. Dentine lines thin, cusps still sharp for starters.

qdma has some decent videos. i think its becoming common knowledge to understand you can look at jawbones and immediately tell fawns, 1.5yr olds, and 2.5 yr olds. once you get into tooth wear, you get into some disagreement. they've done studies on known aged class deer and biologists were wrong when guessing the age by the jawbone. so, take jawbone aging with a grain of salt and go to cementum annuli test for confirmation of an older deer.
that deer is at least 2.5 bc the 3rd premolar has only two cusps and all six teeth are present.
next, you are looking at the amount of wear. consider the whiter part--enamel....and the darker part---dentin. the amount of worn enamel, or conversely, exposed dentin helps age the deer from there. and someone mentioned cusp height (pointiness). that is another indicator for the 2.5yr old.
so. if you look at your pic in post #9 (is that a pilsner?) and look at the 4th tooth from the right---that is the first molar. the "top" cusp in the pic is the one that will show the wear (the bottom cusp in the pic is the pointy one). now look at the dark areas (not the dark part in the dead center-but the darker parts in between the enamel portions and I think that confirms age 2.5
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
and now that i read people's responses, I wonder how wrong i am....
i dont see an unerupted 3rd molar.
and I'm pretty damn certain that 3rd premolar has only two cusps.
and I know for a fact that dnr agents that age jawbones by splitting the lip have already decided that 75lb doe was 1.5 yrs old. I'm a freaking dentist and I cant age a jawbone worth a shit if its still in his mouth.
but maybe i cant age a jawbone worth a shit anyway.
I'm gonna go work on human teeth. I can tell how old they are by their birth date in their chart.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
