    Default Vegas

Going to be in Las Vegas for a week in July. What are the don't miss shows or sights? I know it will be 100 degrees but planning to go to Grand Canyon for a day for sure.

Freemont St is great. The Grand Canyon was one of my favorite things that we have ever done on our many trips to Vegas. We flew out to and into the Grand Canyon in a chopper and landed at a dude ranch for lunch and horse-back riding. Flew by the Hoover Dam also. It was quite expensive but a great time. We are going back to Vegas in September.

Blue Man is cool if you haven't seen it before. Go to Ellis Island for reasonably price food drinks and gambling. It's nice to play blackjack for less than $25 a hand once in a while.

The Cirque du Soleil shows are great. Don't let the ticket prices dissuade you because the show is worth it. Hoover Dam walk-through tour is interesting and worth the trip. I'm not a gambler so the casinos just aren't interesting to me.

I've been to Freemont St. and hope to never go back. YMMV

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I would be worried on where to eat than the shows. Some of the best restaurants in Vegas. If you like sushi go to the Wynn. Steak go to the Nine Steakhouse. Best Chinese food in the MGM.

i think we went at a pretty reasonable cost....jump off the stratosphere if you like that kind of adrenaline and pay the extra to get a ride pass.......the cirque du soleil show is better than i imagined.....thought freemont st was pretty cool for an afternoon.....just be prepared to see anything.....you can get walking drinks/supplies you need at any of the walgreens you pass while walking the strip...souvenir shops have the cheapest beer around......there are two dispensaries at the stratosphere end of strip.....have the uber app....we're not big gamblers, but we spent alot of time just going from casino to casino playing the cheap games.....didn't make it to hoover damn, but it's on the list for next time....and shooting full autos

The Grand Canyon south rim is about a 5 hr drive from Vegas. We did it when clemson went to Arizona for the national championship. It’s a long drive because there is not a damn thing but desert on the way. With that being said it’s worth it. The helicopter may be the way to go.

The Grand Canyon west rim to the skywalk is about 2 hour drive and worth it. They also have a zip line over the canyon.

Las Vegas is a shithole. Grandcanyon is where it's at and you will want to stay more than a day, trust me. Hoover Dam was okay, but the Canyon to me was a lot better. We flew into the Canyon as well and that was a hell of a ride. One of the most interesting helo tours we have taken. Hold on tight though, those wind currents are the mack daddy!!

Yes planning a Helo ride to canyon for sure. Son lives out there now, so we are going to visit, eat and take in a show or two

When it comes to gambling, set your budget, and only take what you can afford to lose.

My parents hit Vegas about once a year, and set their gambling budget beforehand, as part of the trip expense. They only play slots, so they can usually play for the three-four days they're there on what they win. I personally play online and have great experience there
