    Default Single Gender Classrooms

Some elementary schools in Dorchester county have made this an option for next school year.

Did the school system lawyer come up with the idea? If so, sounds like job security for him/her.

Personally, I think parents should have the option. In today's world, it may be not much more than a target for the folks that hate traditions and anything that some of us dinosaurs consider "normal". And since the Boy Scouts aren't around to absorb any of the assault, they'll get plenty of scrutiny.

I'd rather see the public school system dissolve.

My son and daughter both went to a Charter Middle School with gender separate classrooms. It's been fantastic.

My son is in a gender specific class now.

He likes it the other kids like it and the teachers like it.

No matter how much the Department of Education tries to push it, boys and girls are different. Boys and girls brains are different. Boys and girls learn differently.

I'm not sure this link will work. If it does not just Google preger u "war on boys"

Let me add. My kids are home schooled, but if they did go to school, I wouldn't mind them being separated.

I have a 12 year old daughter, and can not argue with you. It wasn't long ago that I had to remind her who the child and who the adult was in our relationship. Things have been pretty calm since.

They can't even decide who gets to use which bathroom. I'm sure there wouldn't be any issues deciding which class they would be in.

My daughter is 12 as well. You have to remind them of the fact they are 12 and not 22 sometimes.

Yep. To many parents these days are more concerned with being a friend in the relationship, instead of being the parent and acting like an adult. You can be their friend when they become an adult, and they have the responsibilities of life put on them.
