I will stick with casual, affordable places for this list- there are plenty of high brow, white table cloth places there if you want a list..

Felix's - best oyster bar there.

    Domelise's Po Boys

    Drago's - chargrilled oysters

    Pascal Manale's for BBQ Shrimp

    Mother's

Central Grocery for a Mufaletta sandwich to eat on the way home.

Dooky Chase's - in a rough area, but worth the risk...unreal good fried chicken or catfish.

If you don't like the bourbon street scene but want to see the nightlife check out Frenchman Street.

Jacque Imos take the green line through the garden district. Awesome food.

Port of call at end of bourbon st on Espaniola. Great burgers and drinks. Go early it’s small.

Jimani just off Canal good for a quick lunch

Jozie and Me hit the nail on the head! Lived there for four years and enjoyed those places regularly. If you like sushi then Rock-N-Sake is your place. Love that joint!
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

Magazine street uptown has some great bars and restaurants. Brightsens uptown is great food.

If your looking for a place at 430am check out Snake and Jakes.

I tend to classify NOLA restaurants in two categories- Paper napkins or Linen napkins.. I love some white tablecloth restaurants ( if I have some female company) , but there are some damned fine casual places to eat there.

I'm not so certain that I would object if my last meal on this planet was at Pascal Manale's... their BBQ Shrimp is damn fine.

New Orleans has the most 5 star chefs per capita in the US. Charleston is 2nd
