What size target are you shooting at a mile away?

This is what we shot. The guy in pic got a third round hit with his Howa 6.5 Creedmoor. His kicks ass in matches with a budget build.

I'd be curious as to the specs on that Howa build.

So in the above picture, is a hit anywhere on the steel counted as a hit or only the one that hit the orange dot? Either way its damn impressive!

Save me from doing the math...how big is 1 moa at a mile?

Most of that plate is actually in the water when its set up.

It’s almost 18.5” at a mile. My plate is actually 17”x17” so just under 1 MOA

That's still pretty tiny a mile away.

I don’t recall who took the picture, but it was late and the sun is low.

Barreled action from Brownells, B&C stock, Timney trigger, Whitt Machine break. Bushnell DMR scope. 142 SMK over 41 grains of H4350. Its a half MOA rifle with that load.

    Barrel length?

Brownell's has a lot of options. I like it, though. Would compete against a Ruger RPR at that price point.

Not a fan of the Ruger. Looks like they built it out of spare parts and I’ve seen some that shoot and some that don’t. Hard to put Ruger and Precision in the same sentence.

Yeah, all I've seen or know of personally shot pretty well, and I think the Rugers options for aftermarket user-installable barrels is attractive. But I like a more traditional looking gun. Usually.

On a different note, I'm considering selling my S&W M&P-10 and getting a LaRue AR10-pattern (M110) kit. If I get what I think the market will bear on the S&W, it would be about just about $400-500 less than a wash and undoubtedly a better quality gun when finished. The only question becomes configuration. But that's just an idea (not a project) at this point.
