That 15.4 million gallons of doodoo water from lake Wylie should be getting into wateree about now. I think mecklenburg county does the "accidental" releases every few month when they build up too much in storage. They probably can only hold so much and I don't know what they do about disposal. Maybe it cost too much to send off so they just open the gates and let it rip! Enjoy those crappie kayak!!!

Nice catching though for real. I'm sure it was fun, i just cant bring myself to eat wateree fish. I still go down there and catch them on occasion though.

Well if you eat the fish out of the tee or cooper river you might as well be eating wateree fish

Good grief! Back in the late 70s early 80s, Dad and I would go catch as many crappie as we wanted to fool with, come home, filet them and eat them watching Braves baseball while the carcasses were still flapping in the trash. Still the best fried fish I’ve ever eaten....has the lake gotten that much worse? I know that was a long time ago, but it’s not like folks weren’t polluting back then.

The lake is fine and the fish are biting. The stripers are turning on. Caught two today over 15 lbs today.

I would believe him. I thought I used to fish a lot up there.. I caught a couple in a school on top some years back that were over that. It wasn't far from my beach, and the struck me enough where I shot over and beached my boat.. long enough to run inside with them to show my then new bride.. also.. she was in the shower and was not excited as much I was about the fishes.

Water all over this state will stain a boat. I can pull my CC out of the slip after a week or so at Edisto, and it's just as nasty. I typically won't keep my boat in for more than a few days on the lake. I pull it in and out, I do have a ramp at the house. Bleach isn't going to take it off though.

The amazing thing about catching those fish on top is that another boat didn't fly in on you and scare the school down. And it's just the red clay causing the stains on boats.

That 15.4 million gallons of sewage that got dumped into Wylie 2 weeks ago should be around wateree about now. You might want to fry them fish a little longer than normal.

The big question is...did you keep the outboards? Or did you throw it back too?
