I heard of a boat claiming to catch a couple but the pictures I saw just looked like big blackfin. Anyone seen any caught this year?

They are liars. Not unless they went a good ways.

I was north of the hole last week and a boat claimed to have one about 40 pounds, said he caught in 400ft. I didn't see it, but he sounded credible...
Haven't seen/heard any being caught around the hole, but I do know of some caught not too much farther north. Very spotty though, boat caught them one day and gone the next. Also got a photo of one sent to me Friday of one caught around the Same Ole in NC.
If you go to OIFC.com you will see that they are indeed here and these next few days the mosquito fleet will be in full force! Tight lines my friends!

Saw a pic of one a guy had at my son’s baseball game a few weeks back had. It was no bFT, it was about 65-70# and pic was from Charleston. Heard of a few more. I’ll post up pics of some Saturday after we catch them.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Day Maker released a little one and I dont question what those guys say. If I recall correctly Anticipation is the boat that landed two. I saw the photo and it was hard to say from the angle but that's another crew that knows the deal. Hopeful they are moving back into our waters
I’ll let you know tomorrow

I'll be out there tomorrow too and hopefully Saturday. This wasn't the Anticipation.
Where you heading out of?

great memories catching 'em in the early 90's. Thick as bees back then.
This was the picture I saw. I'm not tuna master by any means but they don't look like other yellowfins I've caught.

For reference, this is a yellowfin about the same size we caught a couple years ago off OI
