It finally arrived, and my work schedule finally cooperated for an opening day. My oldest boy, Holleman, decided last night he wanted to go, so I hit Rural King and Wally World looking for gear to fit the little weed...tried like a champ to wake him up, then had to leave him in bed...he ain’t too happy with me and told me I should have spanked him if I had to to get him up. That’ll happen Saturday if he doesn’t want to get up. It could have been the most amazing father-son double in history...this guy and one that was every bit as big broke into the field at ~ 35 yards after b-lining it through the woods and around a fence to see where that beautiful Spring Allure Copper/Osage hen was hiding. Thanks for getting me that call ccleroy; it sounded beautiful this am.

Lucked into permission where a bunch of old, unpressured birds live year-round. Thank you Lord!
Then I picked up my boys from school and took them morel hunting where, while on our knees picking shrooms, they spontaneously break out thanking God for the woods and the mushrooms! I'll take it!
