Making a table from a slab like that is tricky. Make sure the individual who makes it knows what they are doing. It can turn into a mess if you are not careful.

That’s not a slab, that’s jointed pieces with a live edge. Looks like hickory or pecan on a trestle base. Not a very difficult piece at all, just time consuming.

How much are you looking to spend and what’s your time frame?
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Oops...didnt look that close the first time. In that case make sure that the person REALLY knows what there doing. Glue ain't enough...

Poly glue would split the wood before it gave. Titebond III and biscuits and a good jointed edge.

Yeah not hard to get glue to have a stronger bind than wood. There was a guy I talked to at sewe. He had some nice oyster tables but also did joint tables. Not sure he had any with an edge like that. I can dig up an email address if you like.

Sent you the email address. Keep me posted on how it turns out. I'd love one like that but I'm a few years out.
