Default Men at Starbucks were there for business meeting to change 'our lives'

Don't get me wrong, I have zero sympathy for Starbucks but this strikes me as funny. Why not just order a cup of coffee? Why not just meet at someone's house? Their lives will change now. They won't have to work for the rest of their lives. Had they been a couple of white guys this story would never see the light of day. It's just funny that a Liberal company is now being shredded by Liberals.

The "victims" knew the employees weren't armed, so it was a win-win for them...

They dressed up more for their interview than they did for the real estate meeting.

Starbucks has brought this on themselves.

But bottom line is that if you are asked to leave, you best leave with the quickness.

Maybe they were waiting for the third party to arrive before they ordered.

    Two parts
    1) a business can and should be able to remove someone if they are loitering which is what this was if they were not buying anything
    2) I have plenty of medical school friends who go to Starbucks to study for hours and may or may not buy anything and no one says a word. I am certain their race had something to do with this. I would be willing to be the person who called cops was probably a race baiting liberal...just not when it involves them.

Those cuffs will be the best thing that ever happened to them.

To their defense, i wouldn't have wanted to order any of that overpriced, burnt tasting coffee either

I have meetings all the time for work at coffee shops and other restaurants. Sometimes I order, sometimes I don’t, but I’ve never been asked to leave. Either way, screw Starbucks.

If I use a retail space for a meeting I always order something. Only seems right if I am making use of their overhead.

Kind of like how I buy a drink or snack when I use the facilities at a gas station. Just seems right since some poor soul will have to clean the can eventually.

It would be extremely tacky not to.

Then it seems like they could've stepped outside, and then reentered when their (mysterious) third party arrived. Seems pretty simple.

The third party did arrive at the time they were being arrested.
I'm glad this happened to Starbucks, truely I am. They have been playing the race card / gender card for years, but this time, this day, the manager and team showed their true colors.

SBUX wants their locations to be the second home of certain demographics. It's good for their business model. Worrying about whether their addressable market is or is not ordering coffee every time they enter the store isn't high on their list if I had to make a guess. Since when does "tacky" justify 911 calls and handcuffs?

Granted we have only heard one side of the story, but a business should be required to ask them to leave before the cops are called. The cops aren't there to do the ugly part of your customer service.

lots of conjecture here....and tacky was the 911 call. the handcuffs are another story. let's not confuse the two.
