Default Biggest Spurred Bird I've Killed

Had to wait on public land to open before I got much hunting in this year. Had 3 birds spitting and drumming close right off the roost the first day, but things were so thick that I couldn't see them before hens came in and pulled them away.

    Second hunt was unproductive.

Third hunt had several gobbling close in the tree, but hens were dropping down like rain when it got lighter. One bird gobbled once every 30-45 minutes on the ground, so I got as close as I could and waited. This one came in from behind me, so I think he was a different bird. I heard scratching and spitting and drumming around 9:30. Eased around and shot him from my knees. Average beard, big spur was 1 3/8". Nice surprise. A2Z hat with the yellow writing blacked out with a sharpie, wearing green Carharts, put the tag on before I got out of the swamp, etc.

    Great Bird!!

I wish I could breathe life back in him, if I could I'd hunt him again tomorrow. - Ben Rodgers Lee

    Good job, congrats!

Is this a “joke is on me” thread...because I’m missing something that was discussed at the cool kids club meeting? I see no pic and no link. Congrats on your big spurs though.
