    Default For mature audiences only!

Not sure this is the right forum, but here goes. I am a beer fan, it has the taste for food. And I love to eat. But I am currently of interest in bourbon. Only time I have ever been drunk was about 30 years ago at a Xmas party, thanks to Wild Turkey. Have recently tried some Makers Mark. Pretty good stuff. Any other recommendations? Not a huge budget and prefer to drink neat. Thanks.

Basil Hayden, Woodford, Four Roses, Bulleit. None of these are super pricey.

I like the Rebel Yell Small Batch Reserve, but I also buy Evan Williams Black usually...

I'm a cheap beer good whiskey man myself. I can enjoy just about any bourbon as long as it's in a glass bottle. Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Knob creek. But day in day out Makers is hard to beat.

    Hey JAB

I've got a bunch of Bourbons, it's really all personal preference though. I could start spitting them all out, but I doubt it would be helpful. Just taste through some, some like wheated some like some more rye.

This is a good start. Also throw Knob Creek and Buffalo Trace in there. Weller is good too

For reasonably priced stuff, I'd try Larceny and Jim Beam Black.

I give Knob Creek as a gift when I can, it's good stuff. HS is your best resource here.

Basil Hayden, Bulliet, Eagle Rare, Woodford Reserve, and Henry McKenna are some of my favorites. Those fit a modest budget depending on bottle size. I prefer small batches and single barrels if I'm drinking neat. Anything that comes from Sazerac's Buffalo Trace Distillery is usually tasty.

It's such a personal preference that you just need to dive in and starting taste testing. I think that Hosscat's list is solid. I personally think that Maker's, Knob Creek, and Larceny are all below average and there are a lot of good options other than those in that price point.
