    Default 3/22

Struck two birds at 8 am. Dead at 8:15 am. The second bird really wanted that hen as he kept strutting and gobbling 15 yards from me. I had to shew him away. Never doubled and wasn't going to start today.

Congrats on the bird and you win the 2018 Wildlife Ethics Award for not getting the double. SC does not have the turkey numbers that we used to and until those numbers get back up no one needs to be getting "doubles". Great call on not shooting.

Yeah, cause that longbeard will probably raise about a dozen or fifteen poults between now and when you kill him Saturday morning. You can kill three, kill them whenever you want to. In the end, the numbers will be the same.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

First thing I thought also! The "hairy looking" vines growing on trees will get you!

Not in the same area though, or even same property.

What you talkin bout Willis? If DNR wanted to reduce the number of turkeys kill by each hunter, all they needed to do was cut the daily bag limit from 2 to 1, not reduce the tag numbers. Probably at least 1 out of every 3 hunts where a turkey is taken, there is opportunity for a double. Your average joe turkey hunter is not good enough or goes enough to kill five gobblers on five separate days. Now if the limit is 2 per day, he can get 5 gobblers in three hunts!

Is it any different than when you have two hunters?? Does the 2nd guy have to watch the 2nd bird strutt around and can't shoot him???
