So, as proved by last post, technically Facebook doesn't really delete accounts. They simply deactivate them.

33yo. Never had one, never will. I've followed links to fb pages, but if I want see it because I have to join or login, I just won't see it.

Here's the co-creator of Facebook and he hates they ever developed it. He did some soul-searching and resigned. It isn't over the privacy issues, it's society as a whole. He's not as geeky as he looks and he seems down to earth with his heart in the right place.

^ yup. I think it's wrecked more lives than it's "helped." But humans are the reason it's so detrimental to society, not Facebook itself. We're our own worst enemy.

When you talk to people under thirty they will tell you that they do not use Facebook anymore. Well, that is a lie. In my line of business, I have several pages and can track demographics and by-far the most active group is females 18-25, the second most active are males 18-25. They may be referring to posting versus using but I promise, they use it. I can get a screen shot of the analytics if you would like to see what Facebook provides us. Ignore technology at your own peril. A long since past boat captain told me that the LORAN is responsible for all of the problems with fishing. He said the easy repeatability of being able to return to an exact location was devastating. He lived and fished with dead-reckoning and used twine with a rock covered with wax for sounding. Now one machine under $300 can do it much better and accurately. So am I going to ignore that technology? Hell no, and you don't either. MG

BS. I'm not on it and I never have been, neither has my wife. Same with Twitter and the other sm crap. You can look for my name Billy Ray Goff Jr. or our name (my wife) all you want and you will not find it. I have friends that have never used it either. My son did have one, may still have it, same name but he's a III. He set his up to keep in touch with the landowners in Missouri where he has 650 acres of fields leased. They let him know when the birds are there. That's a long way to drive just to scout or on a hope and a prayer that they will have birds. When he goes out he usually takes a week or two vacation and stays out there hunting.

Other than that I know several people that do have fb, but that's their problem. All I can do is pray for them.

Talking to your friend on the phone is a form of social media too,so is email if you want to get technical. But I think you are smart enough to know the difference between social media and an internet forum. Sounds to me like you are rationalizing.
