    Default New Samworth Management Plan

SCDNR was kind enough to share their newly revised management plan and goals with the Carolina Wildlife Syndicate today. CWS along with other groups including the Horry / Georgetown Waterfowl Coalition have been pushing hard to get Samworth prioritzed for renewed efforts and we are finally seeing movement. The plan is quite extensive and to long to post in its entirety so I have included what I felt is the best summary noted below.

Big field has now been fully repaired as to water control devices and dikes. Work is starting on Lower Middleton at present as well. Rabbit Island is also being put out to bid in the very near future.

CWS will also be traveling to Sandy Beach for an evaluation trip in the very near future and greatly hopes to see that area as well as other CAT 1s receive both aggressive repair and revitalization in the very near future.

This is what we hope to see more of as hunters unite in a unified voice to express our desires and our concerns moving forward.

To all of you who are members of CWS and other affiliated groups your support is greatly appreciated!! We strongly believe that it would be business as usual if the hunters had not united , lets keep pushing!

Flap gates are now installed on the Broad River CAT 1 ! Thus helping to prevent future crop loss on this CAT 1. The exterior flap gates were indeed left out of the original design and without the observations of several members would most certainly have not been addressed. Good job out there guys!
