    Now is the time.......and add a couple of pear trees. The wildlife will appreciate it and they will be the biggest producer.

    I like the honeycrisp when it comes to apples. I think they're finicky to grow though.

    Another vote for Hallmans. They will also be good to talk to about varieties and such.

    Don’t plant Asian persimmons- they don’t drop. Get common persimmons from the state or from hallmans. You’re late on planting. You want to plant between January and beginning of March- before bud break. For apple varieties, go to Century Farms in North Carolina website. Tons of info. Great descriptions of apple varieties. Winesap, Arkansas black, Yates, liberty, limbertwig, and enterprise are good options. Also, if feeding wildlife versus humans, think hard about crabs and pears rather than apples. Halmans has good pear options.
