    Default Fishing Beaver Ponds

I've fished a lot of farm ponds but never a true beaver pond. Anyone with any success?

Fliers are cool little bream. There are some places in the Francis Marion that hold some sizable ones.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I like carrying a rod in the truck while turkey hunting Francis Marion. The little Carolina bays hold lots of Jackfish and warmouth from what I've seen.

Those public land fish are impossible to catch. Lure shy bastards
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

Good place to get on medium crappie. The ones in beaver ponds are usually unmarked.

Son and I used to drag a canoe to one on public land a good bit, you could always catch a lot of bream, a few crappie, and a bass or two ever now and then. We always had a good time anyway. Hardly ever went without catching something and that kept him interested. Usually small fish.

Yep, that's quite an accomplishment. Just think what Kevin Van Kayakiller will be like in 10 years or so. It's almost scary.

    Fliers, warmouth, mudfish, Redfin pike...
I had a lot of fun in my youth catching those trash fish on rooster tails, beetle spins, and mini crankbaits.
