Default Beaufort County... Total plastic bag ban

I for one am glad to see this... I despise a plastic bag!

More government regulation. Oh well...back to paper.

They are going to screw themselves with the "exemptions"...I mean, how do you "ban plastic bags" and then list all the exemptions. Candy, meet, newspapers, etc. Forget that...you either use them or ban them. Don't discriminate. If you're going to screw one business or one customer...screw them all. I mean that's what the law is for right? Good grief.

Beaufort is one of my favorite places...ever! But it is slap eat up with libatard. Just another quaint southern town ruined by yankees.

Saw this in Eugene Oregon years ago. Most stores opted to charge 25 cents for a paper bag. Or you could bring your own.

It created an interesting issue for Walmart and other bigger stores. They no longer had a good visual to see who had paid as most people just skipped the bagging all together. So they had to implement receipt checkers at all the doors.

I can't really support the government forcing our hands. Customers or stores should drive this.

If government wants to do anything they should just punish littering with a public kick in the balls on the courthouse lawn.

The town of Surfside Beach recently banned plastic bags also.

Did they ban UT wins, or is that self imposed?
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands

Plastic bags aren't a big problem until some pig throws them out his truck window. We should be enforcing littering laws with snipers. SC has the most littered up roadsides of any place I've been in the world.

I've always despised plastic grocery bags!
We have a plastic endemic in this country and it needs to be addressed...

There is a local scumbag that bags his trash in the plastic grocery bags and then throws them out on the side of the road. I've picked up at least 10 of them and I bet the neighbor has more than that. It's always full of empty coke cans and some other household trash.

How sorry do you have to be to bag up your trash and toss it on the side of the road when the dump is less than a mile away? But yeah I'm sure if we take away his plastic bags he'll stop littering.

So do you/your wife take your own grocery bags to the store with you when you shop?

This is a litter problem, not a plastic bag problem.

The misguided principle is the same as gun control.

So how many times is this an option these days? When it's not an option do you reuse your paper bags and take them with you to the store?

Just wondering what changes you have made in your personal lifestyle to make a difference.
