    Default Tohatsu 40 carbs on Yamaha 30

    Can someone who has done this before give some instruction as too how to do it and what adjustments will
    Have to be made.

    Fuel pump is on bottom on tohatsu, middle on Yamaha so you gotta flip those carbs around. The 25/30 reeds are more restrictive so you’ll need 40 cages. And match the reed plate holes with the bore of the carbs or you won’t benefit from the swap

    Hoping he'll chime in with an instructional.

    Gone do I have to have the 40 cages and if so I assume I need to buy the Tohatsu 40 cages?

    Yamaha 40 50 cages will work too. You need the shorter screws for the 40 cages too

    My 30 ran 37 mph on a 1542 WE. I had reed work done and I cut the grey wire. Put a tiny tach on it and proped it right. In all my research the juice was never worth the squeeze.

    This started off as a cheaper alternative to fixing a problem. I’m too far down the rabbit hole to stop at this point in the project.
