Is this the same group that gets on me for deer???
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

Or you could always deer hunt them.
Deer hunt 'em?! If we aren't going to let you use a decoy we dang sure aren't going to let you deer hunt 'em. No sir. No decoys. No blinds. No chufa plots. No TSS. Open choke flint lock blunderbust and a grass blade between your thumbs and that, sir, is it.

I truly could care less about someone killing a turkey legally but I do believe that male turkey decoys help non skilled turkey hunters kill turkeys they could not kill otherwise.

We need to be more worried about recruitment than harvest. If we're looking big picture

Lower the limit to 1 then if that is not enough limit methods. At least this how the most legislators and DNR will look at it.

New proposed legislation from the person in Columbia that now "Cares about turkeys" requires a 12th legion minimum to even get tags issued.

So let me get this straight.... Using a turkeys hearing and sex drive against them by calling is ok, but using their sight and sex drive against them via decoys is not... What about their need to feed? Its ok to hunt over food sources? What about their need to rest? No hunting within 300 yards of a roost?

All that these modern hunting advancements are proving is that turkeys really are dumb as hell.

If hunting traditionally is what you get your rocks off to, then you are welcome to it.

I would think most in this site are into a challenge, not numbers.

So you're saying anyone toting a custom built "turkey rig" with a red dot and super special bullets need not kick rocks at decoys?

It would eliminate field hunting IMO, and pretty much put you in the woods all the time.

Has there been any official talk of a change with DNR?
Well you just confessed to not knowing how to turkey hunt when you said, " It would eliminate field hunting IMO, and pretty much put you in the woods all the time."

Field turkeys are not any harder to kill than any other turkey, if you know turkeys. I have killed plenty and never needed a decoy.

And no man with a bigger sense of entitlement than a man that uses decoys to kill turkeys.

Not sure why this is such a big deal. Dead is dead. If all the gobblers get shot up, the hens will find a gobbler to breed. So, what's the big deal on why/how many/new laws/yaddayadda stuff. Make it 1 or make it 10. The hens will still find a gobbler. And I don't use strutter dekes or fans, but have nothing against those who do and encourage people to use whatever they think will work.

I would be for outlawing tents(for able-bodied folks), all decoys, and TSS. They are all crutches and in the same category, in my mind.
But, Boozer, I'm pretty sure you already knew what I would say.

Other than giving one the boot heel, there are few things cooler than seeing a lit up Tom give a jake decoy a good what for.

i'd prefer to outlaw name-dropping in turkey hunting threads and anyone who has ever set up a backdrop to take a pic of a trumpet call.

oh and anyone who can recite exactly which kind of wood and what country it came from.

well, pretty much everyone in the TFC.

that would help my sanity, at least.

edited to add: anyone who has actually taken a pic of a trumpet call in any way, shape, or form.
